Elli & Niall
When the lovely Holly from Wonderlust Events asked us if we would we like to feature Elli and Niall’s wedding, we knew we would be in for a treat! Inspired by Cypriot traditions, Holly styled and coordinated Elli and Niall’s gorgeous bespoke wedding in Cyprus to perfection. The outdoor rustic setting of Ktima Demetriou – Κτήμα Δημητρίου, was enhanced by string lights and wooden tables adorned with simple floral designs….a perfect example of how a couple can make a wedding in Cyprus uniquely their own! Enjoy getting swept away in their wedding photography, captured by Anneli Marinovich, and reading more about their day!
The minute we spoke to Holly we instantly clicked, she is such a beautiful person and an absolute dream to have by your side, bringing your fantasy wedding to life, guiding you through every single step. We always wanted to get married in Cyprus, a special place to us and our family, however we did not know where to begin with finding our venue, all we knew was that we wanted somewhere exclusive to us and without Holly we most certainly would not have found our hidden little gem, me being the first British bride to get married here. Holly made our countryside venue look absolutely stunning.

Why a Wedding Abroad in Cyprus…
Elli and Niall wanted a wedding that was unique and reflected them as a couple and as Elli is half Cypriot, Cyprus has always been a special place.
Wedding Day Vision…
The couple wanted a very relaxed and fun wedding surrounded by everyone they loved. Their wedding day vision was to have a rustic vibe with pops of colour from bougainvillea, with a traditional Cypriot feel mixed with English traditions. Finding a venue that was different and would bring their vision to life was key. They viewed a lot of venues and instantly fell in love when they looked around Ktima Demetriou, the remote countryside venue was the perfect setting to create their bespoke wedding.
Wedding Ceremony and Reception…
Elli and Niall wanted a Cyprus wedding venue with character and charm which was close to Larnaca and found a real gem in ‘Ktima Demetriou‘ (a Ktima which means ‘farm’). Set in the hills between Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia, the rustic countryside family run venue was an ideal choice for their civil ceremony and alfresco reception.
Their legal civil ceremony was held at 4pm, Elli walked down the aisle with the Cranberries being played on the Grand Piano. Elli and Niall personalised their ceremony by reading their own vows to each other and incorporating a few other readings.
To ensure their guests had a spectacular time, a traditional Cypriot feast was served for dinner, followed Greek dancers and a DJ. As a unique touch they included an ice cream cart, a cocktail bar and a souvlaki stand.
Styling & Unique Ideas…
Holly always takes into account the seasons in each country where she is planning a destination wedding. May in Cyprus is a great month for the beautiful, blooming bougainvillea so she knew it would be the perfect opportunity to include the gorgeous bright pink flower in Elli and Niall’s wedding. She incorporated it into the table centres and stationery which made a real statement.
May is of course also ‘peony’ season and with this being one of Elli’s favourite flowers she took full advantage and included this in her bouquet, cake flowers and arch decorations.
Holly also brought in a few other subtle colours to the wedding day for a little contrast including grey and gold. On the tables they used a soft grey tablecloth along with gold cutlery and perspex table signs with gold writing.
On the Day…
16:00 – Ceremony
16:30 – Drinks Reception and Greek Nibbles
18:00 – Speeches
18:30 – Dinner
20:00 – Cutting of the cake and first dance followed by the party
Standout Moments…
The first dance with everyone holding a sparkler in a circle around the wedding couple.
The Greek dancing show where they got all the guests involved and dancing.
An Ice cream cart kept everyone cool in the warm evening.
Extra Activities…
For their guests, Elli and Niall held pre-wedding drinks at a boho bar on the beach a few days before the wedding.
Important Advice…
Make sure you think about the ceremony time not being too early so you and your guests are not boiling hot!
