Rebecca & Daniel
August in Sorrento, Italy was sizzling – not just because of the heatwave “Lucifer” that had been causing the high temperatures – it was Accent Events gorgeous couple Daniel and Rebecca who were lighting up the pretty town of Positano and creating a celebrity buzz in Sorrento!
They had chosen the month of August – “Some Like It Hot” – to get married in Italy with a hint of celebrity lifestyle and brought the glamour of Hollywood to Sorrento. They had decided on a dual location wedding – church ceremony in Positano and reception in one of our favourite venues, Castore in the hills above Sorrento – exclusively for Daniel and Rebecca.

Rebecca and Daniel were married in the charming Santa Maria Assunta church in Positano its location close to the sea front was perfect for the planned but surprise luxury boat transfers which Daniel and Rebecca asked us to organise for their guests.
It took some precision planning to ensure guests left the hotel without seeing Rebecca who was the last to leave the hotel with her father and bridesmaids so that they would be on the last boat out of the port of Sorrento.
We passed gigantic super yachts that were rumoured to have on board some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and directors, Steven Spielberg, Richard Gere, Samuel L Jackson, and Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia – the art of name dropping – Daniel and Rebecca even had a namesake film star at their wedding….
The girls enjoyed the perks of this mode of transport – drinks on board – but opted for a thirst quenching beer over prosecco!
Rebecca made her own red carpet entrance on arrival to Positano, to greet her were the fabulous boys from Bros Photography and helped by her beautiful bridesmaids, ripples of applause broke out from locals and tourists as the bride made her way to the church.
The church acoustics amplified the sound of the organ and soprano as the entrance song announced Rebecca’s arrival to Daniel.
I will never forget the moment that Fr. Cyriacus opened wide the doors of the church for the recessional – the organist moved from the small organ near the altar to the large organ on the first floor above the doorway to Handel’s Alleluia as Daniel and Rebecca left the church – amazing!.
Rebecca and Daniel had some alone time with the photographer and videographer – while guests were accompanied to waiting aircon mini buses for the short drive back to Sorrento up to Castore where chilled prosecco and beer and a soft, cool breeze greeted the newlyweds guests.
We love working with Tiziana, Barbara and Bernardo and the team at Castore – they are so friendly and extremely professional, their presence ensures excellent hospitality – not only for the couple and their guests but also to wedding planners!
The modern and spacious style was a perfect match for Daniel and Rebecca. Interior and exterior spaces to relax, panoramic views, a fabulous dance floor and bar area, all you need do is to add your ideas.
We had two pre-wedding meetings to finalise details and run through the schedule to ensure everything would be to the couple’s requests.
As avid film fans – Rebecca and Daniel decided on a movie theme for their wedding, their choices were subtle and introduced at key points during the day’s events.
We found husband and wife team Clemy & Pino – Musica & Arte – to entertain guests during aperitivi, Pino is an established musician and Clemy is a talented artist and caricaturist. Also, we arranged for Pino to play the film score from La La Land for the arrival of guests who were invited to sit – during the during aperitivo – for a caricature to take home as a personalised favour.
We asked one of our previous bride’s – the creator of Boxer Creative – to design the wedding stationery using the couple’s choice of their top movies for the table plan and table-talker menus which had carefully selected quotes from each of the movies printed one side of the menu. We loved that…so clever!
Each guest received two old-fashion cinema ticket for complimentary drinks to get the party started.
To complete the movie theme, lights, camera and action and lots of sparkle.
Something sweet.
Moonlight, music, love and romance.
There has to be a prince and princes.
And of course a happy ever after ending to this love story.
