Julien & Alexandra
Less than two hours from Athens international airport, the traditional Greek island of Kea is somewhat of a hidden gem. Part of the Cyclades archipelago, it’s the perfect Greek Island for couples seeking a romantic, chic beach wedding without the crowds.
French couple Julien and Alexandra fell in love with island and called on Greek wedding planners MarryMe in Greece, to organise their Kea Greek Island wedding. As a boutique wedding and event design company, they worked hand in hand with Julien and Alexandra to design the wedding of their dreams.
With stunning views across the Aegean Sea, the couple chose the Aegis Suites as the venue for their relaxed destination wedding. Against the breathtaking natural backdrop, MarryMe in Greece transformed the setting with delicate florals and a colour theme of off white, pink and pops of gold.

We Chose Our Location Because…
We were dreaming of an intimate and romantic wedding on a Greek island near the beach. We had visited Santorini but Kea captured our hearts. As an added bonus Kea is less expensive than both Santorini and Mykonos.
Our Wedding Day Vision…
To have fun and enjoy the day.
Advice for Other Couples…
To start planning early, even if it is a small wedding. I suggest at least 9 months before the wedding.
Extra Activities…
We held pre-wedding drinks the day before the wedding and on the night of the wedding at 2.00 a.m. we arranged an extra treat for our guests…a lovely spaghetti with local Kea cheeses.
Order of Events on the Day…
Civil ceremony at the Town Hall
Photographs with family and friends around the island in various locations
Back to the hotel for welcome drinks and exchange of vows in a symbolic ceremony
Wedding reception
Dancing until 2.00 a.m
Kea Greek Island Wedding Ceremony…
We first had our legal civil ceremony, which took place at Kea town hall in Ioulida. It was held in the early afternoon to allow enough time for photographs to be taken in the traditional narrow street of Ioulida and also by the sea.
One of the most memorable moments was the father and daughter ride from the hotel to the town hall and the walk towards the town hall.
We then came back to the hotel to exchange vows at sunset on the upper level of the hotel which was beautifully decorated.
Wedding Reception…
We visited the Aegis Suites in Kea prior to our wedding and instantly knew this would be the perfect venue to host our wedding. We booked exclusive use of the hotel, which helped to create a relaxed and intimate feel for our wedding celebrations.
We had a delicious feast of Mediterranean food, followed by dancing into the early hours. Our wedding cake came from Athens, it was a two tier cake with white frosting and fresh flowers. The flavour was vanilla and chocolate and it was delicious.
The gorgeous bespoke wedding decor was designed and styled by our wedding planner MarryMe in Greece. They sourced and put all the items together, to create a romantic and unique look.
Brides Dress…
My dress was designed by Rosa Clara. At first, it was not the kind of dress I wanted, but after several trials, I was sure of my choice: a strapless heart, a simple lace, tulle belt and tulle.
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen…
The bridesmaids each chose their own blush coloured dresses and the groomsmen wore blush bow ties.
First Dance…
We danced a foxtrot for our first dance to the song Fly me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra.
Our Wedding Planner…
MarryMe in Greece helped us a lot. As we were not living in Greece, Olympia arranged nearly everything for us. A lot of help with the paper work and the legal part, flowers, liaising with the hotel, hairdresser and she arranged the rest of the suppliers.
She was there any time we needed it, and organised things on our behalf. She kept us on track with times and things that needed to be done. Our wedding planner found all the other providers and organised things with them. On the big day, we didn’t have to worry about anything, just enjoy this unique moment.
Olympia and Elena took care of everything. And everything was perfect…!!!!
Our Wedding Photographer…
We found Fotini Romaliadou our photographer by searching in the internet. We saw pictures from previous weddings and we immediately liked Fotini’s work. During the wedding day in Kea, she was discreet, and picked every moment. She’s so lovely.
