Our Sorrento Wedding.
With Francesca’s Italian heritage and Richard’s romantic proposal at a beautiful traditional Italian restaurant, celebrating their wedding in Italy was a natural choice for them. Their day was planned by Sara Mazzi from Infinity Weddings® and captured by Marco Miglianti

Our Venue…
We chose to get married at the San Francesco Cloister in Sorrento. It was absolutely stunning and had so much natural beauty, with the hanging flowers and weeping willow in the middle. For us, there was no other venue that could match the beauty and magic of the Cloisters.
The arches in particular were very special to Francesca, as one side was Arabic – which is the nationality of her father and the other side is Italian – which is the nationality of her mother.
Our Ceremony…
Our ceremony was at 5:30pm – which was perfect as it was not too hot. We had a civil ceremony that was conducted in both Italian and English. This was lovely as we had family attend from the UK, Australia and Italy. We had readings and poems read by the bridesmaids and we both wrote our own vows.
Wedding Colours…
I wanted a bright fresh colour to go with the beautiful surroundings of the Cloisters. I soon decided on Coral as it looked so stunning on my bridesmaids and I felt it would be equally beautiful in the Italian sunshine.
Dinner and Dancing…
After the ceremony all the guests were treated to cold drinks and Prosecco to toast to the newly married couple.
The wedding dinner was held in the Marameo Beach Restaurant which is located at the bottom of the cliffs of Sorrento, directly over the sea and only a short distance from the Cloisters. The restaurant offers fabulous food and spectacular views in an amazing surrounding.
The evening ended with dancing the night away by candlelight with an amazing view of the Sorrento Gulf.
My Favourite Part of the Day…
The ceremony at the Cloisters as it was so personal. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful and we finally became husband and wife, also sharing it with our beautiful little girl Jasmine, made our day complete.
My Advice for Other Brides…
Be organised. Keep a list of everything you want to have on your wedding day and tick them off once they have been arranged to avoid any last minute panic or disappointment. Also keep a running tab of costs.
Don’t forget what your wedding day is about. At some points in the planning the little features become very stressful when in reality on the day they are very unimportant.
On the day try to enjoy every moment as it goes so quickly! Take a step back look at all your friends and family who are there to celebrate your special day and appreciate them all being there with you.
I would also strongly recommend a DVD of the day. I was not convinced we needed one. However my husband convinced me and now we have it I am so grateful, as it captures all the small and special moments that can pass you by on the day. It is wonderful to be able to watch it back time and time again for years to come.
