What will it cost us to get married abroad in…xxx?
It’s a simple question but not always an easy one to answer…sorry!
In my quest for a “guideline” answer to this question, UK independent Travel Experts The Honeymoon Fixer very kindly came to my rescue. They put together a list of wedding abroad prices for some of the more popular wedding abroad destinations.
The table below shows what the 2017 ceremony prices start from. I have put further information on what is included in these wedding package costs at the end of the table.

| Canada | £1965 | Good for great backdrops such as the Rockies. |
| USA | £488 | Versatile destination with anywhere from Vegas to Florida. Easy language for ceremony. |
| Caribbean | Can be free if you stay a certain number of nights at some resorts | Very professional and perfect for guests who would like a nice holiday as well. |
| South Africa | £862 | Good if you want something different and combine with a safari honeymoon. Also good if want winter wedding with good weather. |
| Kenya | £1374 | Good if you want something different and combine with a safari honeymoon. Also good if want winter wedding with good weather. |
| Sri Lanka | £876 | Great if you want to explore nature. Also good if want winter wedding with good weather. |
| Mauritius | £414 | High class Indian ocean destination. Temperate all year round. |
| Seychelles | £597 | Jewel in the crown of Indian ocean. Very high class hotels. Not many better places if you want a luxury honeymoon afterwards. |
| Maldives | Can only do a blessing | You can’t get married in the Maldives but you can have a blessing. |
| Thailand | £2004 | Good for winter wedding. Also provides good variety for wedding guests. Whether they want a beach holiday afterwards or to trek into the jungle. Note: You may be required to stay in Bangkok for at least 4 days in order to prepare you paperwork (Creative Events Aisa offer an express legal package, which in most cases reduces this stay to 1 day.) |
| Hawaii | £1035 | Great scenery, wildlife and no language complications. |
Typically included in these costs are:
- The ceremony venue

- Seating for guests
Some packages will also include:
- Flowers for the bride
- Buttonhole for the groom
- A few wedding photographs
The following will usually incur additional charges:
- Legal documentation (translation / apostille costs)
- Wedding reception and meal
- Entertainment
- Decorative flowers
- Hair / make-up
- Full set of photographs
- Flights and accommodation
As a little caveat to the weddings abroad prices above, please also remember (although I’m sure you’re fully aware) that the cost of getting married abroad is also dependent on a number of variable factors such as; the region you would like to get married in, the time of year of your wedding, the number of guests attending, your personal tastes…
