Our Story…
We were meant to be together…we first met nine years ago during a wedding show; at the time, I was a model and was wearing a wonderful white wedding gown. We liked each other very much but we were both engaged to other people.
Fast forward nine years, we were both now single and we bumped into each other and discovered that we were living in the same neighbourhood…so we went out for a pizza and the rest is history!
My first impressions of Pietro was that he was smart, funny and very sweet, he thought that I was timid, but incredibly sweet and with a disarming smile.
Our Proposal…
Pietro proposed in a wonderful restaurant on our first anniversary. We had a romantic candlelit dinner and a stunning view from our table on the terrace. At the end of the meal our waiter came with the desserts and I found the ring beautifully arranged on the side of the dessert dish, packed in a dream box. It was amazing!
Our Style…
My bridal gown was designed by Italian designer Domo Adami. It was absolutely love at first sight, strapless with a full skirt in tulle and lace. The gown was so romantic and easy to wear; I coordinated this with lace detail in my hair.
Pietro was incredibly stylish in a Dolce & Gabbana suit.
Our Ceremony…
Our religious ceremony was held in a wonderful Neo-Gothic Church in a small countryside village which was surrounded by vineyards. The Church helped set the tone for an elegant yet relaxed day.
The inside of the Church was amazing and the atmosphere created by the music of the harp, violin and flute was simply unforgettable.
Our Reception Venue…
As we are both food and wine lovers we wanted the best that the area of Langhe could offer and agreed on a Michelin Star Restaurant. Set amongst the vineyards of Barolo, the location of the restaurant is incredible. It commands breathtaking views and its contemporary design within a natural setting was perfect.
The aperitif was served in the courtyard whilst watching a magic sunset over the vineyard and surrounding hills. The courtyard also offers a marvellous view of the wine cellar through large windows. It houses a selection of over 800 Italian and foreign wines, with a special section dedicated to Barolo.
It goes without saying that the food was excellent and the presentation made it even more superb. We received such praise for the wonderful menu we selected as well as the fantastic wine.
Wedding Colours and Design…
As we are both romantics, we chose “love” as our wedding theme and used “hearts” of different styles and shapes throughout our décor design. This included our invitations which featured a beautiful crystal heart charm suspended from satin ribbon in white and silver, through to the menus, candles, centrepieces, seating plan and our wedding cake.
The tables looked wonderful, they were decorated with an original heart shaped centrepiece made from gypsophila flowers. Our menus were designed with each guests name printed on them so they cleverly doubled as name placeholders.
The seating plan created by our wedding planner was an amazing work of art, completely original and very unique! Designed in silver, it incorporated all the elements of our wedding – love, hearts, angels, honeymoon, jewels, diamonds, sugared almonds and a convertible Porsche which was our wedding car.
My Favourite Part of the Wedding Day…
There are simply too many to list…. I spent most of the day laughing and with an incredible energy and euphoria.
It would take all day to write what we loved about our wedding day, but believe me…. we loved all the details that our wedding planner managed to cover…down to the candles and flowers and in particular, the relaxed and magical atmosphere.
I think we both liked the after dinner part the most. The courtyard was the location of an illuminated corner bar and was beautifully decorated with romantic lantern lights. A super professional barman prepared delicious cocktails for all the guests with such spectacular flare that he reminded me of Tom Cruise in the film “Cocktail”.
Thanks to a great DJ and good music our guests danced the night away. We also had a very spectacular moment of lighting sky lanterns, which even our little guests enjoyed as they were invited to light their own lanterns.
We loved our wedding day so much that we really did not want it to end!
Our Wedding Planner…
Our wedding planner was extremely efficient in helping us to achieve our dream; she perfectly understood our individual tastes and personalities and helped turn our ideas and needs into a memorable event.
She suggested the perfect location for both our wedding ceremony and reception. Our day was everything we were hoping for and more. We had such a great time and the memories will be with us forever. A great compliment is that our guests still comment how our wedding was amazing and the best that they had ever attended.
My Advice to Other Brides…
I would recommend for other brides to get married in Langhe (Piedmont), as this part of Italy is a treasure to discover and learn about! There are many charming venues set amongst rolling hills covered with vineyards and it features world famous wine and exceptional food amid stunning and unique landscapes.
I would also recommend other brides to contact Extraordinary Weddings Italy to help plan and coordinate their day. Everything was done seamlessly with impeccable service and exquisite taste. We consulted many other companies but Extraordinary Weddings working method definitely stood out as they were so transparent and laid out each item helping us with our budget without hidden costs or surprises.
We will always be grateful to our wedding planner as she delivered a fairytale that exceeded our expectations. We really appreciated her efforts making sure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently which made our wedding day an enjoyable and memorable occasion. Our wedding planner really loves her job and creating our dream wedding together with her was a wonderful experience.
