From USA to Venice.

Steeped in mystery and romance, the enchanting city of Venice was the perfect location for Amy and Kevin’s intimate destination wedding in Italy. The city’s fabulous architecture and winding canals made a wonderful natural backdrop for the couples special day which they organised with the help Infinity Weddings.

Where we Met…

We met in August 2009 on the other side of the world in Port Stephens, Australia, a few hours north of Sydney.

First Impressions…

My first impression of Kevin was that he was shy but thereafter I saw him as jovial, free spirited and gallant. Kevin thought that I was a buxom blonde southern bell!

Our Proposal…

It was very romantic; we were in the Luxembourg Gardens, Paris when Kevin proposed.

My Dress…

I chose an elegant, understated classic ivory empire line dress, with a modern cathedral length train and paired this with a full length veil.

We Chose our Location Because…

Having been to Venice as a child I had very fond memories of how beautiful and picturesque it was and this helped to make the choice of location an easy decision.

Our Ceremony…

Our small and intimate symbolic ceremony was held in the Chapter Room of the converted convent Scuola Grande Dei Carmini. This beautiful building now houses an art gallery while retaining classic features such as the carved ebony paneling and the wonderful gold-leafed stucco stairway to heaven designed by Longhena.

Our Reception…

Our reception was held in the 5 star Hotel Danieli, which is just steps away from Saint Mark’s Square. Soaked in history this opulent restored 14th century Venetian palace with columns of hand carved Italian marble and Murano glass chandeliers is something very special. Pre-dinner drinks were served in the hotels magnificent Bar Dandolo while dinner was held in the Restaurant Terrazza Danieli. The unparalleled breathtaking view from the restaurant’s roof top terrace is one of the best in Venice of the San Marco lagoon.

My Favourite Part of our Wedding Day…

The sun setting on a beautiful evening from the roof top of the Hotel Danieli with a panoramic view of glorious Venice.

My Advice to Other Brides…

Find a reliable, resourceful wedding planner and trust them. Do not stress out. Our planner really made our wedding so wonderful, they took the pressure off me so that I could simply relax and enjoy the day!
